Alteril Review - Alteril sleep pill

Alteril is a dietary supplement promoted as a sleep aid. There are reports on the internet of customers not being satisfied and some had their credit cards charged repeatedly. See bottom of page. If you have difficulty sleeping, consider some of the steps you can take to improve your sleep. You can also find info here on insomnia.

Alteril claims
The Alteril website says, "
If you have trouble getting to sleep or staying asleep, if you wake up several times during the night, toss and turn, or wake up tired and unenergetic, you now have a safe, simple solution . . . Alteril. Alteril, the all natural, safe, non-habit forming alternative for getting the deep, restful sleep you need. Alteril is a premium grade sleep aid that will help you get the sleep you need without any unwanted side effects."

Alteril ingredients
According to the Alteril website, "The two primary ingredients in Alteril are Valerian and Melatonin. Valerian is an all natural substance that has been scientifically proven in the European community to induce a deep, recuperative sleep in both normal sleepers and insomniacs, without the usual side effects of prescription sleep aids."
There have been studies with valerian root for the treatment of insomnia, however valerian root is not a consistent sleep inducer and many people who have used valerian alone have not been satisfied. Melatonin does help with sleep and is an effective natural sleep aid.

Alteril research
A search on Medline did not reveal any published studies with Alteril. Any company can make up a fake study and post it on their website. A research study gains legitimacy when it is peer reviewed independently and then published in a recognized medical journal.

Alteril side effects
The sellers of Alteril claim that their product does not have side effects. However, it is well know that melatonin has side effects which include vivid dreams, morning grogginess, and long term use could reduce sexual drive. However, using melatonin once or twice a week appears to be very safe.

Bottom line
Alteril is a dietary supplement that contains melatonin which is a good, natural hormone that helps with sleep. However, one can buy melatonin for very cheap at five dollars for a bottle that can last several months. Valerian is also very cheap to buy. Hence, it would not make much sense to pay a lot of money for a product when you can buy the individual ingredients at a fraction of the cost.
The Alteril web site does not mention the dosage of melatonin and valerian in their product. If you experience vivid dreams with Alteril, this could mean that there is a high amount of melatonin in it.

Customer dissatisfaction with Alteril
On the following website, we found this statement, "I also found another complaint at [] about the same product, being charged repeatedly for Alteril and not being able to reach the company. Then I found out that this E-Vita Labs has a tie with another complaint for a related company called Maximizer Health Products. Tamera Gibson & Robert Winters are tied to these two companies and have the same address: 3871 E. Colorado Blvd. #100, Pasadena, CA 91107 This company and these two individuals need to be investigated for Fraud!" http://www.infomercialscams.com/scams/alteril_natural_sleep_aid_complaints
